In a public press release a few days after the elections of April 25, Oerd Bylukbashi, representative of DP stated:
“During the election week 6 million euro were allocated only to the municipality of Durrës or 89 times more money than the municipality has allocated in the last 15 months”
Faktoje inspected this statement with the data provided by the Ministry of Finance for the reconstruction process in 2020. According to the data provided by Faktoje, the total payments for the reconstruction process in 2020 were valued at ALL 16.6 billion or approximately 135 million euro. Due to this amount, the Municipality of Durrës is the second most funded institution in the country for 2020, at the value of ALL 3.7 billion or 30 million euro.
The total payments for the reconstruction process during 2020 were ALL 7.6 billion or approximately 62 million euro for individual transfers through the bank for the reconstruction of damaged residences and ALL 9 billion or 73 million euro for the reconstruction process of new objects by the government.
But according to the Ministry of Finance, only during 2020 the Municipality of Durrës has made payments to citizens in the amount of ALL 3.3 billion or 27 million euro.
As a result, we categorize the Mr.Bylykbashi’s statement according to which 89 times more funds were allocated than the municipality has allocated in the last 15 months to be false.
